The 14th  workshop of the ERCOFTAC Special Interest Group on Synthetic Turbulence Models (SIG42) took place at the Université de Caen. It was co-organised with SIG 14 dedicated to Stably Stratified and Rotating Turbulence and dedicated to "Synthetic methods, complex/fractal flows and porous media".

About 20 participants attended from different European countries (France, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom) and beyond the European Community (Columbia, Chile, Irak, Russia). Abstracts from the main contributions will be published in Ercoftac Bulletin.

Participants to the workshop wanted to pay tribute to Prof Jean Mathieu a founder of Ercoftac who sadly passed away in February 2019. SIG42 took on many of his ideas as Prof Mathieu always kept a keen interest in SIG42 development.
